Lazy week...

Heya,

so, I promised another model for this week. I got one, but I'd planned on getting more to be honest. I wanted to paint one of the crewmembers of the mortar, sadly I didn't paint as much last week as I wanted to. I'm just not comfortable enough painting at other people's house, and I've been in the house of my dad all weekend. Next week college starts again, but I hope I can paint more than one model this week. I'll try to finish the mortar guy before the weekend and a few handgunners before next monday.

Well, so far the excuses, time for what I actually DID paint!

I started off by starting on three handgunners this week, but it reminded me of how much I hate painting several models of the same type at the same time. So after I'd done a few colours I put two of them aside and finished the last of them.
I tried to make a nice step by step of how I paint the eyes, but I didn't quite manage to get the images sharp enough, so again: I owe you those. Here is the finished model.

Remember this is some kind of filler model, I planned to do something else this week too. Maybe I'll do a step by step article after the crewmember. I did test a different way to paint the skin on this one, a friend told me how he painted his humans, so I tried.
I started with 2:1:1 Dwarf Flesh : Codex Gray : Bleached Bone.
After that I added more Bleached Bone and a little Codex gray to the mix for every new highlight.
I'm not sure if it turned out as intended by my friend, but I'm still not completely satisfied. Next time I'll try the same colours as I used on my dwarves, so I'm looking forward to see how that turns out.

This day has cost me a lot of energy, so this article is probably a bit chaotic. I promise the next one will be better written and planned, but now it's time for bed!
